With a Masters in Gerontology from the Singapore University of Social Sciences, Atiqah joined the qualitative research team at CARE in 2021. Her passion to pursue research was ignited by her prior experience in providing case management services to older persons and caregivers in the community, who struggle with issues of mental health and dementia. At CARE, Atiqah has been involved in various projects, ranging from evaluation studies on preventive health screening and community care service model to explorative studies on older persons’ life-space and perspectives of loneliness. She has also trained community researchers and conducted workshops on focus group discussion as a qualitative research method. Through continuous research, education and collaborations, Atiqah hopes to co-create a resilient and compassionate society.
