Sumithra is a Senior Research Associate at CARE. She is passionate about research that focus on health literacy and health communication. At CARE she works on a pharmacy-related health services research project that aims to build an evidence-base to implement improved pharmacy-generated prescription medication labels in Singapore.

Sumithra is currently pursuing her doctoral studies at the University of Monash which is focused on advancing the health literacy responsiveness of pharmacies in Singapore. She received a Bachelor’s degree, double major in Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacology from the University of Queensland in in 2004. She further pursed training in pharmacy and received a Master’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Western Australia in 2014.
