Bio
I have been a Senior Consultant in Palliative Medicine at the National Cancer Centre Singapore. Over the last 18 years in Singapore I have focused upon the provision of holistic care of cancer patients with complex symptomology. I believe this is best accomplished through a combination of clinical skills, a team based approach and evidence based practice. To realize this i have sought to combine personal and professional development with effective support of my team through mentoring and peer support and guiding practice through clinical, ethics, professionalism, communications and education research. Thus i have complemented my educational pursuits in the form of my Masters in Ethics and Masters in Medical Education, PhD in Medical Ethics, MD in Palliative Medicine and my ongoing PhD in Medical Education with research into Professional identity Formation and its links with professionalism, communication, moral distress and compassion fatigue to better support staff and enhance patient care
