Education Qualifications: MBBS, MMed (Anaesthesia)
Adjunct Associate Professor Ruban is the founding Academic Chair in the Academic Clinical Programme for Anaesthesiology & Perioperative Sciences (ANAES ACP) of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre. He is the Chairman & Senior Consultant of Division of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Singapore General Hospital. He is also a visiting consultant and Anaesthesiologist at National Heart Centre, Singapore He is a member of the cardiothoracic anaesthesia service and lung transplantation team at the National Heart Centre. He has been involved in developing and overseeing postgraduate anaesthesiology training in Singapore for the last 10 years. He was previously the Program Director for the SingHealth Anaesthesiology Residency Program 2010-2014.
His interests include thoracic anaesthesia, airway management and medical education.
