Bio

Eager to learn about topics at the interface of biology and medicine, Martin studied at the ‘Centre Universitaire, Luxembourg’ and the ‘Universität Münster, Germany’. He enrolled in the Master in Molecular Medicine programme and subsequent PhD studies at the ‘Viroscience department, Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, the Netherlands’ with projects including the evasion of innate immunity by the only recently discovered virus HMPV, as well as mammalian adaptation and airborne transmission of zoonotic influenza A virus subtypes H2N2 and H5N1.
