Master of International Translational Medicine

YES. The MITM is a part-time programme designed with the working professional in mind.

The programme is comprised of engaging, evidence-based educational strategies delivered virtually, typically on Tuesday or  Wednesday evenings from 6:00-10:00pm, weekly.  In addition, once each year, there is a week-long course held on or near the Duke-NUS campus.

Prior to each weekly session, reading materials will be shared as necessary preparatory work to lay the foundation required.

Tuition is $25,000 SGD per year, for two years.

The MITM is a self-pay degree programme.  If you wish to explore tuition support below are possible avenues:        

1. If you are a Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident, you may apply for tuition support from the NMRC Research Training Fellowship programme.  There are 2 possible NMRC RTF application periods annually - once in JAN and another in JUL of each year.  For full details and specific application window periods, please visit to the NMRC Research Training Fellowship Website

2. If you are an employee of SingHealth, you may approach your SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Clinical Programme (ACP) Chair or Head of Department (HOD) to explore possibilities of tuition support.  We strongly encourage that in-principle approval is obtained prior to applying for MITM.

3. NUS Executive & Administrative staff may apply for the NUS Masters Sponsorship scheme.

NUS offers an MSc in Translational Research & Innovation that focuses on training scientists and leads graduates to have the technical competence to support a research project under minimal supervision.  The focus of the MITM, on the other hand, is on developing scientists and other stakeholders to be able to navigate the translational medicine landscape in order to better ensure that scientific discoveries make their way to patients efficiently and expeditiously.
