SINGHEALTH DUKE-NUS RESEARCH SKILLS WORKSHOP

CCSD hosts a Research Skills Workshop every one to two years for budding clinician-scientists in our academic medical centre. The workshop focuses on equipping participants with the necessary research skills training and information to enable them to compete for national research grants and talent awards. 

The Research Skills Workshop were held in 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2022 featuring:

  • Speakers from Duke University with a wealth of experience in conducting grant writing and research career workshops
  • Open dialogue session with SingHealth leadership and senior clinician-scientists in our AMC

Some feedback received from the workshop participants were that the workshop helped to:

  • Innovate thinking process and enhance their ability to write with accuracy & clarity
  • Acquire negotiation skills for multiple research collaborations and engage lab-based collaborators
  • Understand how to balance work-life and family
