Professor Cherbuin is the Director of the Centre for Research on Aging, Health and Wellbeing in the College of Health and Medicine at the Australian National University. He is a chief investigator of the PATH Through Life Study, a large longitudinal study of ageing surveying 7500 individuals spanning the ages of 20 to 80 years who have been followed-up for the last 20 years. He also leads the NeuroImaging and Brain Lab which specialises in neuroimaging epidemiology. Nic’s main research interests are the identification of risk and protective factors for healthy ageing, cognitive decline and dementia; the biological mechanisms contributing to physical and brain ageing; the role metabolic disease plays in neurodegeneration; and the development of tools and interventions to promote healthy ageing and decrease the risk of dementia.
