EID Seminar Series - mRNA TT Programme: Platforms, Products and Partnerships for Interpandemic Sustainability and Pandemic Preparedness
This presentation will focus on the mRNA technology innovation strategy of the WHO/MPP mRNA vaccine technology platform with a particular focus on making mRNA vaccine development and manufacturing accessible to LMICs. The programme model is a
technology transfer “hub” called Afrigen located in South Africa. This programme develops an end-to-end mRNA research, development and GMP manufacturing platform and
provides platform-speci c training and technology transfer to the 15 programme partners across the world.

Science in Medical Oncology, University of Pretoria and a
post-doctoral at the Harvard University School of Public Health. She has published more than 200 scienti c publications in public health and is acknowledged as one of the
legends of science by the Academy of Sciences South Africa.
