Stephan Ludwig is director of the Institute of Virology (IVM) at the University of Muenster, Germany. His research is focused on the interaction of respiratory pathogens with the
host cell and the immune system aiming to develop new host-directed
anti-infective strategies. He is spokesperson of the German FluResearchNet and coordinator of the National Research Platform for Zoonoses. In 2015 he co-founded
Atriva Therapeutics GmbH, a company that is active in clinical
development of host-targeted anti-infectives against hyperinflammatory viral diseases.
