Program Description
The purpose of the Health & MedTech Innovation Workshop “Design Thinking for Healthcare Innovation: An Overview” is to equip budding health & medtech innovators with or without prior innovation experience with basic level knowledge relating to the product development competency under the Health and Medtech Innovation Skills and Competencies whitepaper as well as DSN-ACE-3014-1.1 Design Thinking Practice Technical Skills and Competencies.
This workshop will provide learners with an understanding of the fundamentals of healthcare innovation and the knowhow to apply a structured and validated design thinking practice framework towards healthcare innovation projects in its exploration and concept phase.
By the end of the workshop, budding health & medtech innovators will be able to describe a design thinking process of empathy, identify, invent and implement and its application towards health and medtech innovation. Learners will also be able to recognise key considerations in describing and understanding a clinical need and evaluating potential solutions.
The is a face-to-face course. Eligible participants will be able to tap on the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Funding Scheme*. All figures are in SGD.

Note

SSG will only fund a course once for each eligible trainee and in the event, you have to retake a course, you will not be eligible for SSG funding again.

* For students who are supported by SSG funding, please note that if you have taken an SSG-funded course, you would be liable to pay back the SSG training grant plus the prevailing Goods and Services Tax (GST) to NUS if you have received the grant for the course and fall into any of the following categories:
- Failure to fulfil a minimum attendance of 75% for the course
- Premature withdrawal from the course
- Failure to pass all prescribed coursework, examinations and/or assessments for the course

All requests for withdrawal must be received before the start of the workshop for the course. Late withdrawals will be subjected to payment of the FULL course fees. Any access to learning materials (online preparatory materials and workshop materials) will be considered as participation and no refunds will be allowed.
