Innovation Milestone: LIVE Ventures Launches First Awarded Project!
LIVE Ventures has announced and awarded its first project to Associate Professor Lena Ho. This marks a significant milestone for LIVE Ventures and highlights our commitment to fostering groundbreaking research at Duke-NUS.
Associate Professor Ho and her team from the Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders Programme are pioneering the development of microproteins into therapeutic targets to treat chronic inflammation. This innovative research addresses a critical healthcare challenge, as chronic inflammatory diseases and related syndromes affect close to 60 million people in the US alone, costing at least US$90 billion annually. In Singapore, the prevalence of these conditions is also on the rise.
To support this transformative project, LIVE Ventures will be co-incubating with 65labs. This partnership brings together the resources and expertise of a consortium of global investors, including ClavystBio, Leaps by Bayer, Lightstone Ventures, Polaris Partners, the Polaris Innovation Fund, and global life science company Evotec SE. A seasoned Entrepreneur-in-Residence is assigned to this project, providing commercialization-related support for the next two years.
