Helping The Community In Need

The education students receive at Duke-NUS Medical School includes opportunities to be involved with impactful student-led community projects that allow them to practice their skills and put their knowledge to use.

Camp Simba

Since 2009, students from Duke-NUS Medical School and NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine have committed to organizing Camp Simba.

This year, in its 11th iteration, Camp Simba remains steadfast to its objectives of meeting the emotional needs of children whose family members are afflicted with cancer. At its core, Camp Simba seeks to provide a safe and conducive haven for them to have fun and enjoy themselves, while helping to build their resilience and courage.

Most importantly, Camp Simba hopes to build a community for the children, one where they can draw support and strength from other children who share similar experiences and know that they are never alone.

Duke-NUS Doctors for Doctors

This enrichment fund allows clinicians to support young clinician-scientists in training by helping with overseas attachments and conference expenses.

Paediatric Brain & Solid Tumour Awareness (PBSTA)

We are a team of medical students from Duke-NUS Medical School. We aim to raise awareness of paediatric brain and solid tumours in Singapore. The launch of the Paediatric Brain Tumour Awareness (PBTA) day in Singapore on 08 November 2015 coincides with the International Brain Tumour Awareness week. In 2018, we have rebranded our project as Paediatric Brain and Solid Tumour Awareness (PBSTA).

Project DOVE

Project DOVE, short for Duke-NUS Overseas Volunteering Expedition, is a student-led overseas medical mission that has been reaching out to neighbouring countries since 2010. Duke-NUS students have worked closely with local and international partners over the years to ensure the sustainability of Project DOVE, commemorating a decade of impacting underprivileged communities.

Duke-NUS Paediatric Cancer Research Fund - Supported by the St. Baldrick's Foundation

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation (SBF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organisation that is the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants. This is important because the bulk of research funding for cancer is channelled into discovering cures and drug development for adult cancers, leaving vulnerable young cancer patients at risk of receiving very little aid.

World Autism Awareness Week

This fund supports the students of the Duke-NUS’ Benjamin Sheares Colleges’ goal to help strengthen resources to educate and equip individuals with autism for productive integration into society.

Duke-NUS General Pool Fund

You may choose to support a specific cause at Duke-NUS which you are passionate about, or you can make an unrestricted contribution to the Duke-NUS General Pool Fund that will support the School's most urgent priorities in education and research.
