Professor Sir Alasdair Breckenridge was a highly respected educator and globally acclaimed clinical pharmacologist, international scientist, and visionary regulatory professional during his lifetime. He was associated with many scientific, academic and policy achievements around the world, and one of these was his close association with Singapore and the Centre of Regulatory Excellence (CoRE) at the Duke-National University of Singapore Medical School (Duke-NUS).
To honour his memory and continue his mission, the
Alasdair Breckenridge Fund is established to further regulatory capacity building through study awards tenable at CoRE.
This fund will continue to promote sustained and meaningful professional capacity development, and broaden access to learning opportunities across the region. This study award will support and finance healthcare professionals from National Regulatory Authorities, Ministries of Health, and related organisations from ASEAN and Asia-Pacific to enrol in courses run by CoRE. This will enhance their professional development and strengthen the regulatory capacity of their organisations. The fund will offset participants’ course fees, travel expenses and accommodation.
