Currently holds the position of Senior Advisor of the Diagnostics Development Hub (DxD Hub), the Singapore government initiative focused on driving the growth of the medical diagnostics industry in Singapore. He was previously the Chief Operating Officer of DxD Hub. He is also the Chief Quality Officer and Biosafety Officer for the Stronghold Diagnostics Laboratory, a dedicated Covid testing laboratory established by the Singapore Government and Chair of the Centre for Probe Development and Commercialisation, a Canadian National Centre of Excellence, based at McMaster University, Ontario.
In a long career, John has been CEO of a number of start up diagnostics companies in both the in vivo, radiopharmaceutical and in vitro diagnostic fields as well as the privatisation of government institutes in Belgium, Canada, UK and Singapore.
He holds a B.Sc in chemistry and PhD in inorganic chemistry from Imperial College London, where he worked under Nobel Laureate, Professor Sir Geoffrey Wilkinson. Prior to joining one of the first European biotech companies, Medgenix, in 1988 as head of R&D, he was a Senior Scientific Officer at Atomic Energy Research Establishment, Harwell and a lecturer in chemistry at Chelsea College (U of London) and Loughborough University where he focused on developing novel radiopharmaceutical imaging and therapeutic products. He has published over 100 papers and holds more than 20 patents.
