Dr Tomas Salmonson is currently partner at Consilium Salmonson & Hemmings. He left the Medical Products Agency in February 2019 after more than 30 years at the Swedish agency and the European regulatory network.

Dr Tomas chaired the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use, CHMP, at the European Medicines Agency between 2012 and 2018. Before that he was a member of CPMP/CHMP representing Sweden between 1999 and 2012. During the last ten years at CHMP, he also represented the EU at the ICH Steering /Management Committee and the ICH Assembly.

Dr Tomas obtained his PhD from Faculty of Medicine Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden in 1990 and an MSc (Pharm.), from Uppsala University, Sweden in 1986. Prior to that, he did research at UCSF, San Francisco, USA.
