The Innovative Devices Access Pathway (IDAP) Pilot was launched in September 2023. This pilot is guiding eight transformative technologies that meet an unmet need in England’s National Health Service (NHS) through regulatory, health tech assessment and NHS access hurdles. The pilot is the first example of the UK’s key system partners - NHS England, Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), and the Devolved Administrations of Scotland and Wales - coming together to provide tailored advice on how to navigate the pathway from pre-regulation to adoption into the NHS.

This presentation will provide an overview of the IDAP pilot, including its unique offer to industry including international applicants, and outline the wider work the UK Government is progressing on innovation as part of the Medical Technology Strategy published in February 2023.
