Ms. Vijaya Rao is the Director of the International Collaboration Office at SingHealth and Deputy Director of the Clinical Health Systems Programme at Singhealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI). With over 25 years of experience in healthcare policy, community healthcare management, and social services, her expertise lies in strategic service development, step-down care, and geriatric care—her true passion.
Vijaya has been instrumental in setting up the Institute's three regional centers in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. Across 40 projects in 14 countries, she drives impact through building capacity initiatives in areas such as Maternal and Child Health, Emergency preparedness, Quality and Patient Safety and many more. She was also instrumental in piloting case management services in hospitals to community settings to provide holistic continuum care for Elderly.
Today, Vijaya also leverages her extensive in-market connections to develop healthcare leadership and management knowledge-sharing programmes under the Asian Institute for Healthcare Leadership & Management (Asian HEAL).
She contributes to national workgroups such as the Elder Care Master Plan, Elder Abuse, and Workforce Redevelopment, and has extensive experience with WHO programs, particularly in Mental Health.
