On 22 February 2019, the Duke-NUS Centre of Regulatory Excellence (CoRE) and the Singapore Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (SAPI) organised and co-hosted a closed-door roundtable held at the Duke-NUS Medical School. The meeting was co-chaired by Professor John Lim (Executive Director, CoRE & Chairman, Singapore Clinical Research Institute) and Mr Enver Erkan (SAPI Vice President and Public Policy Committee Chair).

The CoRE-SAPI Singapore Biopharmaceuticals Roundtable was convened to discuss the key priority areas to further foster the biomedical and pharmaceutical industry in Singapore. The roundtable brought together participants from various backgrounds including senior representatives, principal investigators, and clinical trials operation managers from Singapore's public healthcare clusters, public research foundations and agencies, and industry. Future roundtables and dialogues will be planned to sustain and extend these important conversations.
