Palliative Care Course for Therapists(Classroom & Asynchronous)


Welcome to the Palliative Care Course for Therapists(Classroom & Asynchronous)!

The aim of this 3-day course is to equip occupational therapists (OT), physiotherapists (PT) and speech & language therapists (SLT) across all settings with professional competency and confidence of therapists with the necessary knowledge to work with patients and families facing life-threatening illnesses.

There are two parts in the course: Part 1 is on foundation palliative care management for all therapists while Part 2 focuses on professional specific knowledge and applications. Preliminary topics include clinical overview of common life-limiting illnesses, serious illness communication, basic symptom management, role of OT / PT / SLT in management of patients with progressive life-limiting illness and integration of these therapies into the holistic management of such patients.

This course is a combination of e-learning delivered via the Duke-NUS Learning Management System and face-to-face sessions.
