The Medicine Sub-Internship is a four-week advanced clinical posting to further strengthen the diagnostic process of our students and involve them in the actual delivery of care. Day-to-day acute and more routine clinical management will be emphasized. Students will acquire in-depth knowledge of Core Conditions that are common in the population, including cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, sepsis, anaemia, osteoporosis and others.
By the end of the Medicine Sub-Internship, students will skilled in the clerking of patients, analyzing their medical problems, initiating simple laboratory investigations to refine the differential diagnoses, instituting basic medical treatment and adjusting the working diagnoses as more information arise in their clinical course during the in-patient stay.
