Chia Pei Yun

Coming from a humanities background, I bring a unique perspective to medical education and research. I'm thrilled about the opportunities that Duke-NUS offers. Thanks to the Shaw Foundation Scholarship, the financial burden on my family has been significantly reduced, allowing me to dedicate myself fully to my studies and training. This scholarship doesn’t just help me; it directly impacts the quality of care I will be able to provide as a future clinician.

Mukul Prasad (Class of 2026)

I want to get into cardiothoracic and vascular surgery because I’m fascinated by the intelligent design of the heart. Through procedures like heart transplants, I can save lives and extend patients’ time with their loved ones. Coming from a lower middle-class family in India and with the huge currency difference, I am very grateful for the Dhun Nargolwala Bursary in helping me with my living expenses.
