Ashish Kumar is Principal Research Scientist in the Health Systems Design Lab. Prior to joining the team in January 2021, he was Principal Consultant, Economics and Operations at Bell Labs Consulting (part of Nokia Group, where he worked for a total of 21 years). He has served as Engagement Lead for strategy consulting projects of national importance in Singapore and Malaysia. He has sold, delivered and led consulting projects in more than ten countries. As a subject matter expert, he has consulted on market entry business cases and market forecasting, economic impact of new technology, business benchmarking, and enhancement of operations models. Ashish has applied system dynamics, network analysis and input-output analysis in his work. He has co-authored a book and several research publications. He has a B.E. (industrial engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee (India), master’s degree from the National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai and Ph.D. in management from IIT Delhi. He is interested in applying systems thinking in health.
