Bio

Dr Dawn Chong is a Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Division of Medical Oncology, National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) and specializes in gastrointestinal cancers.

Dr Chong received the Singhealth Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Fellowship award and completed a fellowship in clinical and translational cancer epidemiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She also received the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Research Training Fellowship and obtained a degree in Master of Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr Chong's research focuses on cancer epidemiology, with the aim of critical analyses of epidemiologic exposures with clinical and genetic information to elucidate novel biomarkers that can be used to risk stratify patients and guide treatment decisions. She was awarded the NMRC Transition Award for her research on metabolites in colorectal cancer. She has published in many high impact journals including JAMA Oncology and Lancet Oncology.

Dr Chong is an Assistant Professor of the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and a clinical lecturer of the Yong Loo Lin Medical School. She has been actively involved in the training of undergraduates and young clinicians.
