Bio

Dr James Ngu Chi Yong graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2003 and was awarded a fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2013. He is currently a senior consultant colorectal surgeon in the Department of Surgery at Changi General Hospital (CGH).

Dr Ngu’s subspecialty interest lies in robotic and minimally-invasive surgery, including single-port and natural-orifice surgery for treatment of colorectal cancers and other benign inflammatory conditions that require operation.

Dr Ngu participates actively as a clinical instructor and speaker at advanced minimally-invasive colorectal surgery workshops in Singapore, Vietnam, India and Taiwan. He has also been appointed as a founding board member of the Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore and the honorary treasurer of the Singapore Society of Colorectal Surgeons.
