Clinical and Adjunct Tracks

Professor

Education

  • Demonstrate excellence and quality supervision/teaching and mentoring of learners related to field of expertise. 
  • Deliver skillful and inspirational approach to teaching and focus on making an impact to the objectives of the programme through evidence-based curricular development and planning.
  • Engage in some form of educational service activities (e.g. recruitment, committee work, co-curricular activities, etc.) to support the school or learner development, where applicable.
  • Engage in scholarly activities either in research related to specialty or in educational scholarships.

Research

  • Demonstrate sustained indicators of leadership and research excellence and research collaborations related to the field or body of work.
  • Provide leadership in the co-supervision of research students and/or research fellows.
  • Contribute to teaching and mentoring of medical students and research PhD students, where applicable.
  • Contribute to general programme/department activities and development where applicable.


Associate Professor

Education

  • Demonstrate quality supervision/teaching and mentoring of learners related to field of expertise. 
  • Deliver skillful approach to teaching of curricular goals and objectives of the programme and contribute to the curricular development and planning.
  • Provide timely and quality feedback to both the learners/programme as well as the educational institution.

  • Have sustained and positive impact to student learning through a leading role in educational innovation, reform and support.
  • Engage in scholarly activities either in research related to specialty or in educational scholarship as defined by career progression goals.
  • Engage in educational and leadership academic administrative service roles that supports the school or learner development.

 

Associate Professor

  • Provide quality teaching and mentoring through evidence-based approach to and reflection on teaching and student learning.
  • Deliver skillful approach to teaching that leads to deep, holistic and self-directed student learning within and beyond course.
  • Have knowledge and experience of a range of pedagogical approaches, with appropriate level of scholarliness through teaching and research.
  • Engage in scholarly activities either in research related to specialty or in educational scholarship as defined by career progression goals.
  • Engage in educational and academic administrative service activities to support the school or learner development.

 

Assistant Professor

  • Provide quality teaching and mentoring of learners related to field of expertise.
  • Understand the curricular goals and objectives of the programme from which learners come and contribute to the curricular development and planning designed to achieve those goals.
  • Provide timely and quality feedback to both the learners and educational institution. 
  • Engage in scholarly activities either in research related to specialty or in educational scholarship as defined by career progression goals.
  • Engage in some forms of educational service activities (e.g. recruitment, committee work, co-curricular activities, etc.) to support the school or learner development.

 

Instructor

  • Provide quality teaching and mentoring of learners related to field of expertise.
  • Understand the curricular goals and objectives of the programme from which learners come and contribute to the curricular development and planning designed to achieve those goals.
  • Provide timely and quality feedback to both the learners and educational institution.

 

Research Track

Professor

  • Demonstrate excellence in research, sustained indications of leadership and excellence in service.
  • Achieve research accomplishment as evidenced by body of work established, quality and productivity, research impact, independence and leadership, record of securing independent research funding, as well as international visibility. 
  • Capable in driving research initiatives and contributing to creative professional activities with clear record of service with consistent and sustained indications of leadership to the university and international community.
  • Contribute to teaching and mentoring of medical students and research PhD students where applicable. 
  • May have substantial involvement in overseeing core research facilities and technology implementation / improvement.

 

Associate Professor

  • Demonstrate excellence in research, with indications of sustainability over the long term, and consistent record of service with evidence of leadership.
  • Achieve research accomplishment as evidenced by body of work established, quality and productivity, research impact, independence and leadership, as well as record of securing independent research funding. 
  • Capable in driving research initiatives and contributing to creative professional activities with evidence of leadership to the university and international community.
  • Contribute to teaching and mentoring of medical students and research PhD students where applicable. 
  • May have substantial involvement in overseeing core research facilities and technology implementation / improvement.

 

Assistant Professor

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge, skills and expertise, with capability of leadership and achieving research excellence.
  • Have research independence in producing research quality and productivity, as well as securing independent research funding. 
  • Capable of managing research projects and providing leadership to junior researchers.
  • Contribute to teaching and mentoring of medical students and research PhD students where applicable. 
  • May have substantial involvement in overseeing core research facilities and technology implementation / improvement.

 

Tenure Track

Professor

  • Sustain high level performance with peaks of excellence in either education or research, and very good quality in the other, with demonstrated excellence in service.
  • Achieve research excellence as evidenced by body of work, quality and productivity, research impact, independence and leadership, as well as international visibility as evidenced by creative professional activity and practice-led research.  
  • Achieve education excellence as evidenced by peer review reports, student feedback, impact on student supervision, leadership and contributions to curriculum development and pedagogy, as well as performance indicators such as teaching awards and curriculum innovations.

Associate Professor

  • Attain peak of excellence in either education or research, with demonstrated quality and indications of sustainability over the long term.
  • Achieve research excellence as evidenced by body of work, quality and productivity, research impact, independence and leadership, as well as international recognition of contributions.  
  • Achieve education excellence as evidenced by the quantity and quality of student supervision and peer review reports, leadership to curriculum development and pedagogy, as well as performance indicators such as teaching awards and curriculum innovations. 

Assistant Professor

  • Demonstrate potential to achieve excellence in research as evidenced by the quality and quantity of publications, and quality of dissertation.
  • Provide expertise in education through specialisation in expertise area(s), competency in teaching, and contributions to development of course materials and pedagogy.
  • Contribute to service where applicable.  

 

Practice Track

Professor

  • Demonstrate distinction and impact in the field or profession/industry with well-established intellectual authority, leadership and international reputation.
  • Provide very good quality of teaching evidenced by range, practice, innovation and leadership, and recognition of teaching excellence, where applicable. 
  • Develop, implement and evaluate projects and programmes that have impact on research collaboration and outcomes, where applicable.
  • Provide service excellence in the management and/or formulation of policies, as well as outreach and external collaboration that enhance the reputation of the School. 

Associate Professor

  • Demonstrate impact in the field or profession/industry with emerging intellectual authority and regional reputation.
  • Provide very good quality of teaching evidenced by range, practice, innovation and leadership, and recognition of teaching excellence, where applicable. 
  • Develop, implement and evaluate projects and programmes that strengthen research collaboration, where applicable.
  • Provide service excellence in the management and/or formulation of policies. 

Assistant Professor

  • Provide in-depth knowledge and profound industry experience that value-add to the fundamental knowledge of quality teaching and/or innovative research.
  • Contribute to teaching and mentoring of students, where applicable. 
  • Engage in developing, implementing and evaluating projects and programmes that strengthen research collaboration, where applicable.
  • Provide professional experience and service in the management and/or formulation of policies.
