Bio

Dr. Anamika Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders Signature Research Program at Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. Before Joining Duke-NUS, Dr. Anamika was an Assistant Scientist at Temple University, USA. Dr. Singh earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Jadavpur University, India, conducting her research at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Kolkata, under prestigious Junior and Senior Research Fellowships from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. She subsequently completed her postdoctoral training at Pennsylvania State University and Temple University, USA. Her current research at Duke-NUS Medical School focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases and heart failure in diabetes; and the mechanisms of cardiac development and developmental defects of the heart. In addition to her research, Dr. Singh is actively involved in education, teaching in both the MD and PhD programs. She serves as one of the lead faculty for Genetics in the MD program at Duke-NUS Medical School.
 
Dr. Singh has a diverse publication record spanning forensic and population genetics, genetic epidemiology, and clinical and basic translational research. Her work has been published in journals, including Diabetes, Diabetes Care, Cell Reports, British Journal of Haematology, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. She has several published abstracts and awards from scientific meetings and presentations. Dr. Anamika Singh is currently a member of the American Heart Association.
