Bio
Dr Chong is a Urologist with a clinical interest in Endourology and Urinary stones. He completed a Fellowship in Endourology at the UCLA School of Medicine, Department of Urology at Los Angeles, USA under Prof Gerhard Fuchs.
He was awarded the Lee Kuan Yew postgraduate scholarship and National Medical Research Council overseas research fellowship to pursue a DPhil at the University of Oxford, UK; where his thesis work was in the area of tumour immunology/ cancer vaccines, as well as tumour hypoxia and angiogenesis. His current research interests are in developing tumour vaccines in Kidney cancer, and works closely with collaborators at NUS and ASTAR. He was awarded the National Medical Research Council Clinician-scientist Transition award in 2012.
Dr Chong is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and holds concurrent appointments as Assistant Professor with Duke-NUS Medical School and Adjunct Assistant Professor with NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
