Bio
Associate Professor Sanjeewa Kularatna is a health economist and researcher in health services, currently serving at the Programme in Health Services & Systems Research at Duke-NUS, as well as holding a position at the National Heart Research Institute Singapore and National Heart Centre Singapore.
His expertise centres on evaluating patient-reported outcomes, focusing on quantifying utility measures and quality-adjusted life years (QALYs). His work also extends to the economic analysis of healthcare interventions and enhancing evidence-based decision-making in healthcare contexts.
He has developed methodologies to assess patient and consumer preferences within healthcare service organisations through discrete choice experiments. He is committed to creating collaborative programs aimed at redesigning healthcare delivery models. A central objective of his work in Singapore involves devising collaborative strategies to reduce hospital admissions.
He is an experienced PhD mentor and welcomes interested students.
He has published over 100 manuscripts of international significance and mentored many clinicians in health services research.
