Bio

Dr. Steven Lim Hoon Chin is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Programme Director of the GPFirst Programme at Changi General Hospital (CGH). He also serves as the Deputy Academic Chair of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Emergency Medicine Academic Clinical Programme and the Clinical Lead for Ambulatory and Community Care at the upcoming Eastern General Hospital. Currently, Dr. Lim holds the position of President of the Society for Emergency Medicine in Singapore (SEMS).

In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Lim is a member of the Editorial Board of The Western Journal of Emergency Medicine. He is a Board Member and Chairman of the Management Committee of the Singapore Anglican Community Services, an institution of Public Character.

Dr. Lim is the immediate past Chief of the A&E Department at Changi General Hospital. He holds multiple academic and teaching appointments at institutions such as Duke-NUS Medical School, National University of Singapore, and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He completed his Fellowship in Disaster Medicine at the University of California, Irvine, and contributed a chapter to “Disaster Medicine: Comprehensive Principles and Practices” by Koenig and Schultz.

Furthermore, Dr. Lim advises the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) as a member of its Medical Audit Committee. In recognition of his contributions to healthcare, he was awarded the Healthcare Humanity Award in 2012.
