Clinical Associate Professor Poon graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore in 1984. She went on to pursue her Postgraduate Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in UK from 1984-1988. In 1993-1994, she was awarded the Health Manpower Development Programme Fellowship in Advanced Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Glan Clwyd Hospital in UK. She specialises in Dentoalveolar Surgery and Orthognathic Surgery.
Clinical Associate Professor Poon is currently a Senior Consultant at the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Clinical Associate Professor of the NUS Faculty of Dentistry as well as Clinical Associate Professor of SingHealth Duke-NUS Oral Health Academic Clinical Program.
She is currently Director of National Dental Centre Singapore and Academic Chair of SingHealth Duke-NUS Oral Health Academic Clinical Program.
