Bio
Dr Sachin Mathur created the first ACS (Emergency GS and Trauma) team in Singapore in 2014 at KTPH and its success has led to its adoption in SGH (2016 end) and NTFGH/NUH 2018. It has also been adopted in CGH, SKH and attempts have been made in TTSH. Sachin is recognised as a national leader in trauma/emergency GS and creation of new models of care to manage this patient workload. He has already been commissioned to counsel the new Eastern General on its models of care for General Surgery.
Dr Sachin has a passion for working in a stimulating, fast-paced surgical environment, with a commitment to furthering a strong and dynamic career within this challenging profession. He has a proven track record in providing quality-based surgical care across a broad spectrum of hospital arenas, from city-based centres to smaller, regional-based facilities.
He is skilled at leading and motivating teams, with the ability to manage staff effectively. Solid background in team training, supervision and mentoring.
Dr Sachin is excellent with his communication and interpersonal skills, having the ability to relate effectively and professionally to people at all levels. A motivated and hard working person, who is able to adapt quickly to new working environments.
He is currently the Head of General Surgery and Director of Trauma, SGH and a mentor to numerous residents and students in GS.
