Bio
It is a personal vision to build the Geriatric Medicine specialty within Sengkang General Hospital together with fellow geriatrician colleagues, and one with a paradigm shift which seeks to reduce the clinical burden of frailty through a systematic identification and timely management of at-risk elders in the community, upstream of their current presentation in acute crises. In addition, with a sub-specialty interest and training in cognition and memory disorders, one of the key priorities will be to develop a multi-disciplinary Memory Clinic in SKH, that will collaborate closely with community partners and primary care physicians to provide seamless and holistic care for patients with dementia, and recognized as a centre with expertise in assessment, diagnosis and management of complex cases across the spectrum of cognitive disorders. Beyond clinical work, I will be seeking active collaborations to further the research agenda of our geriatric fraternity, and contribute to the training of the next generation of geriatricians.
