People Reading Advanced DISC Workshop: Elevate your Science Career Through Behavioural Mastery

Effective communication and leadership are essential for success in any professional setting. Understanding behavioural tendencies can improve team dynamics, conflict resolution, and workplace interactions.
To explore this further, CCR organised a DISC workshop to provide participants with deeper insights into their own and others’ communication styles. The session, led by Kyle Hegarty, Managing Director of Leadership Nomad, focused on how the DISC personality model can enhance workplace relationships, improve leadership skills, and facilitate more effective collaboration.
Kyle emphasised that while DISC categorises individuals into four primary behavioural types—Dominance (D), Influence (I), Steadiness (S), and Conscientiousness (C)—real-world interactions involve a blend of these traits. The workshop aimed to help participants recognise different profiles and adapt their communication strategies accordingly.
Key takeaways:
- Self-awareness is key
- Effective communication requires adaptation
- Task-oriented vs. people-oriented approaches
- Email communication matters
- Cultural and generational differences influence DISC expressions
- Networking and leadership application
By applying DISC principles, participants gained practical strategies to enhance their communication effectiveness and leadership impact.
The session encouraged active participation through small group discussions, real-world scenarios, and interactive exercises, ensuring attendees left with actionable insights for their professional development.
