Duke-NUS MD Curriculum

At Duke-NUS Medical School, we are committed to nurturing graduates who go beyond just practicing medicine. Our goal is to empower them with the capabilities to advance the field of medicine. A hallmark of our curriculum is the Research and Scholarship period, offering our students the opportunity to engage in personalized, comprehensive, and sustained research projects. This essential component complements their clinical education and is pivotal in fostering our "Clinician Plus" vision.

Our MD programme, a 4-year graduate programme, confers a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, jointly awarded by Duke University and the National University of Singapore (NUS), reflecting our strong partnership and commitment to excellence in medical education.

Duke-NUS MD Curriculum Structure

Our curriculum has been adapted from Duke University School of Medicine for the Singapore context and comprises four Phases.

Phase I: Focuses on basic medical sciences applied to the clinical context.

An integrated one-year pre-clerkship Basic Science curriculum framed within the context of clinical care, delivered by basic science and clinical experts
