Duke-NUS grads take Hippocratic Oath in virtual ceremony (Straits Times)

On Friday, Duke-NUS Medical School's 10th graduating cohort marked their transition to becoming doctors by reciting the Hippocratic Oath in a 30-minute virtual ceremony. The oath-taking sets out the values and responsibilities physicians agree to uphold for the care of their patients. Duke-NUS' Class of 2020 will join the medical workforce next month, two weeks earlier than originally scheduled, at a critical time as Singapore fights the coronavirus. Professor Ian Curran, Vice Dean for Education at Duke-NUS, who led the Oath-swearing ceremony, told The Straits Times that healthcare and medical ecosystems need clinicians who are not only clinically competent, but also compassionate and dedicated in their professional service to patients and their families.
