Last week marked a significant milestone for 78 fresh faces at Duke-NUS as they began their journey in medicine. The Class of 2028 dove headfirst into a range of activities designed not just for fun but also to prepare them for the rigorous and fulfilling years ahead.
Their first week was a whirlwind of excitement. From laughter-filled icebreakers to adrenaline-pumping InterCollege games, the aspiring clinicians put both their minds and bodies to the test.
Beyond the fun and excitement, Duke-NUS’ newest students also found time to familiarise themselves with the campus and its surroundings, thanks to their seniors from the Class of 2027 who brought them around the School, before topping off the experience with a walking tour of the Tiong Bahru area, which included the many food places that will help sustain them during their studies.
In addition to the warm welcome from the student community, members of the new class also met their “academic guides”, who gave them a tour of the topics for the year ahead through a series of introductory lectures conducted in the LEAD room—a space that will soon feel like their second home.
With new bonds and friendships forged, the Class of 2028 is all set for their journey at Duke-NUS.
